As they grow out of infancy, the parachute babies, as they are known, demonstrate an increasing number of unsettling traits.  Louis has shown an unnatural affinity for music, and how he is using it may be undetectable to others.  Over in Israel, Artep knows things that cause his child psychologist to believe that he is reading minds.  Katie sees the future.  Some governments venerate these young guests from outer space, and others see in them the greatest threat to humankind in the history of the planet.  There is no telling who is right, but some are protesting, “Even if they are not here to replace us, maybe they are here to dominate us, and, damn it, we were here first!”
